Star Lesson fixed

Dibba reader - teacher-centric LCD interface

This is the wall mounted LCD 'smart' unit that enables the teacher to start and stop the filming of their lesson by a simple swipe of their dibba. When the teacher swipes at the end of the lesson the recorded lesson footage is automatically and instantly archived in that respective teacher's password protected section of Lesson Land.

The hand-held dibba - giving teachers total control over the process

The hand-held smart device that enables teachers to start and stop the recording of their lessons. The dibba is programmed to know which teacher it belongs to and will automatically archive that teacher's entire lesson in their password protected area of Lesson Land when it is swiped against the dibba reader at the end of the lesson.

PTZ Camera in XE fixed system

High resolution pan, tilt and zoom cameras provide the ultimate image quality for Star Lesson's fixed system. Teachers can choose to have the standard pupil/teacher view or they can move the cameras into a specific setting before the lesson commences. If the lesson is being remotely observed the remote observer is able to pan, tilt and zoom the cameras through Star Lesson's software.

Star Lesson Land - software and hardware built by us for teachers

Each Star Lesson comes with the propriety Star Lesson Network Recorder called Lesson Land, a 1TB dedicated archival system and software application. Lesson Land allows teachers to privately record, archive, tag, share and view their lessons through a password protected interface. Lesson Land also enables lessons to be remotely observed (live), tagged, archived and reviewed.

Teacher and Observer log in page - teacher-centric

The login page enables remote observers, via the 'Monitor Lesson' button, to obtain an instant stream of the live lesson.

Individual teachers use the 'Teacher Log In' button to enable them to access their lesson bank of pre-recorded lessons.

When lessons are being observed live or being reviewed at a later date it is possible to tag the video in accordance with TDA Professional Standards and Ofsted criteria. All tagged clips can then be archived and watched individually.

Teacher and Observer Homepage - Immediate feedback

This is the navigation page where remote observers can provide feedback on the observation by populating the forms provided. Near immediate feedback is achieved as teachers can access their observation notes and view their tagged video clips minutes after their lesson.

Individual teachers who have filmed their own lessons (without being observed) can similarly watch, tag, archive and share their lessons from this single page.

Lesson Land Server - dedicated archival system

Each system comes with a dedicated Lesson Land server with 1TB of storage, preinstalled Star Lesson software platform, and is rackmounted in the school's server room. The server is also fitted with remote servicing as standard - meaning that we can maintain the system and upload all new software releases without having to attend site.

Professional, wireless lapel microphones - ultimate audio quality

Star Lesson's specialist boundary microphones are mounted on the ceiling to provide maximum audio pickup system. To achieve maximum clarity for CPD/teacher training purposes the teacher's audio is recorded by a wireless lapel microphone. Sound is a crucial element of video being used for CPD and teacher training. For this reason every Star Lesson installation will enable all teacher speech to be heard, and as much of the pupil's questions and answers as is physically possible within any specific classroom.
